Meet your Presenters

Head of Commercial

Georgina Mawer

As Head of Commercial, Georgina is responsible for the technical output of Eurofins | BLC specifically relating to consulting services and analytical and physical testing through the laboratory. Georgina has extensive knowledge with the leather, textiles and synthetic sector in the imposition of robust chemical management systems within their supply chains. She has supported brands, manufacturers and chemical companies with compliance programmes, due diligence procedures, trouble shooting and technical support on RSL and MRSL listed substances and the accompanying challenges. In addition, Georgina helps to implement upstream chemical management systems within chemical companies, manufacturers, brands and retailers. Prior to joining Eurofins | BLC, Georgina worked in Analytical Research and Development (AR&D) and Quality Control (QC) roles in pharmaceutical laboratories after graduating from University of Lincoln with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Forensic Science.

Sustainable Chemistry Technical Lead

Katrina Prior

Katrina has worked at Eurofins | BLC for 3 years and is currently the Sustainable Chemistry Technical Lead . She has a background in Chemistry and has previously worked as an Analytical Chemist. Katrina now works with clients to help them understand legislation and technical queries which are applicable to the apparel, footwear and upholstery industry.

Head of Sustainability Business Development

Peter Hughes

Peter leads the development of Eurofins | BLC Sustainability Services through expanding commercial opportunities, delivering specialist communication support to clients and implementing traceability systems for global supply chains. Peter is also involved with bespoke projects around circularity of leather and other materials, research into emerging material innovations for the sector and measuring the environmental impact of materials. Peter has over fourteen years of experience working in the field of sustainable development with private, public and third sector clients. Peter has previously worked in the food industry specialising in sustainability issues and supply chain mapping of the 'food to go' sector, concentrating on improving environmental and ethical performance. He has also worked with the public sector looking to utilise existing building stock to generate power and use energy more efficiently.
